SULLIVAN, MO (KTVI)-The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is looking into the beating of a Cuba, MO man over the holiday weekend. Sheriff’s deputies were called to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan Sunday where the man had sustained substantial injury to his face and torso.
The victim, Jeffery Pemberton, 32, said he had an argument with some people Saturday morning over a girl. Pemberton said he went to Arapaho Camp Ground in the Sullivan area later in the day and ran into the same group of people. He said one of the subjects punched him in the face then he was struck with a pipe and other unknown objects. He stated that he was also kicked in the ribs several times and was even tied to a chair and beaten until he passed out. He said the suspects drove him to the hospital and threw him out at the emergency room door.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was able to get video of the vehicle at the hospital. It was located Sunday back at the campground and seized. Deputies are currently trying to locate and interview the suspects.
